{ 5:50 AM } 16 nov. Breakfast (I had cornflakes with milk) and then some Jade Factory. ![]() ![]() Lol they seriously love scamming money I tell you. Silk factory jade factory pearl factory not enough, they still scam money from tea leaves and even Chinese medicine. Next time when you visit China don’t get scammed okay, even though there are super pro scammers who can sit down there and talk to you for an entire hour or so. 万里长城 (GREAT WALL OF CHINA) One of the seven wonders! Once again, so hard to believe I was there. :D The Great Wall of China is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in China, built, rebuilt, and maintained between the 6th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire from Xiongnu attacks during the rule of successive dynasties. Several walls, referred to as the Great Wall of China, were built since the 5th century BC. The most famous is the wall built between 220–200 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang; little of it remains; it was much farther north than the current wall, which was built during the Ming Dynasty. The Great Wall stretches over approximately 6,400 km (4,000 miles) from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia, but stretches to over 6,700 km (4,160 miles) in total. At its peak, the Ming Wall was guarded by more than one million men. It has been estimated that somewhere in the range of 2 to 3 million Chinese died as part of the centuries-long project of building the wall. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Wall_of_China ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() LOL MY BRO. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() YZ, SX, YC, my dad and I were one flight away from the peak when we headed down, just because there wasn’t enough time. So totally wasted isn’t it, if I ever go back there again I’m gonna time myself all the way up to the peak. The tour guide was emphasizing how cold the Great Wall was gonna be, so I wore my thickest clothes and it so happened that because I was chionging all the way up, making full use of my youth, I was sweating instead and felt like stripping myself to the bare. Joking. Steep steps and random spits.. Ahh. My mum saw a cleaner picking up rubbish along the steps. And guess where he threw them to. The OTHER side of the wall, as in into the trees and stuff ROFLMAO. Maybe after 30 years the government will decide to rename it as the Great Rubbish Dump of China instead. -.- And when we got down apparently we still had LOADS OF TIME, so much time that we could shoot a lot more pictures. ...Thus we decided to borrow a cigarette from my dad and... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ROFLMAO. My mum and YC actually inhaled the smoke, and exhaled like there’s nothing wrong with it. ![]() Lunch was horribly fantastic. Ate till we couldn’t walk, and I mean it literally. They served 12 people a 20-people serving, on top of that the food was good too – and there was lots of meat for me to savour. The result: ![]() My brother (the first one) didn’t actually get full from all the food. He was downing himself with Sprite (or 雪碧 we like to say), and so, yeah. Ming Dynasty Tombs (明朝十三陵) The Ming Dynasty Tombs are located some 50 kilometers due north of urban Beijing at a specially selected site. The site was chosen by the third Ming Dynasty emperor Yongle (1402 - 1424), who moved the capital of China from Nanjing to the present location of northwest Beijing. The Ming tombs of the 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty were located on the southern slope of Mount Taishou (originally Mount Huangtu). He is credited with envisioning the layout of the ancient city of Beijing as well as a number of landmarks and monuments located therein. After the construction of the Imperial Palace (the Forbidden City) in 1420, the Yongle Emperor selected his burial site and created his own mausoleum. From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in this area. The tombs of the first two Ming Emperors are located near Nanjing (the capital city during their reigns). Emperor Jingtai was also not buried here, as the Emperor Tianshun had denied Jingtai an imperial burial, but was instead buried west of Beijing. The last Chongzhen Emperor, who hanged himself in April 1644, named Si Ling by the Qing emperor, was the last to be buried here, but on a much smaller scale than his predecessors. During the Ming dynasty the tombs were off limits to commoners, but in 1644 Li Zicheng's army ransacked and set many of the tombs on fire before advancing and capturing Beijing in April of that year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming_Dynasty_Tombs Tour guide said we weren’t allowed to take pictures with people in them. Scary. The scenery was good though.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Pillars and floor from 500 years ago, not refurnished. ![]() ![]() ![]() Did you know one tomb of pocessions and everything had to be covered under a hill of soil, which means the hill is like man-made and then they grew trees on top of it and everything. Wth haha. ![]() There was this gate we had to step through (I didn’t dare to take a picture of that haha) to get back to the “yang” world – the spirits are the “yin” if I’m not wrong – and say “我回来了”. So some Caucasians went like “I come back already!”, and it sounded SUPER SUPER funny. And then we went to 泡温泉. Actually we didn’t, all we did was walk around the place cause the condition of the place isn’t very good or something. We were wondering how often they change the water and even where they got the water from LOL. ANYWAY, it was still an unforgettable place. Like how many places do you get naked (old) ladies striding around. Got a shock when I stepped into the female changing room, those aunties were walking around naked like nobody’s business and they were even ignorant to our uncontrolled laughter. Oh yes the showering cubicles had NO DOORS and the dividers were like GLASS. Lol tell me how many Singaporeans would dare to bathe there. -.- So we were laughing and laughing and laughing, and our laughter didn’t stop at the performance. Not that it was funny or what. More of the over-extravagance, you know how incredible it is when the performance area had a stage, an ice-skating ring, a pool (at the back)... And yet it was totally, TOTALLY WULIAO. I slept, and it was $80. _|_ And at the very end of the performance, this came on on the CYC screen. ![]() Joke of the day. We kept kidding that it was CNY/national day, infact the extravagance of the performance was like one too. We had dinner there, although all I ate was a few pieces of sweet sour pork cause I was still bloated from lunch. ![]() Saw the night view of水立方 on our way back, it looks super beautiful with the changing lights and all. Anyway May 姐 said that we were lucky to come at this time, cause very soon they are gonna shrink it by ½ or ¾. D: Bathed, watched TV (there was some sg show with Huang Biren and Tay Ping Hui), read, slept. |
about me.
She is unpredictable. If you can tolerate her random shits then you are a god. Her mood fluctuates more than anyone can ever imagine, and she knows how annoying it is but she can’t help it.
Her name is Yan4 Ying2. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly. It is not Yan4 Ying3 or Yan4 Ying1 or Yan2 Ying2. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She has other stupid random weird nicknames like WonderWoman, Small Meano, or Sicko. She turns 13 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol.
She was once from YewTeePrimary and she still loves that school to bits. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07 because of all the endless crazy things she has done back then. She is currently an idiot in NanyangGirlsHigh and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 102’08 which she loves dearly but at the same time is annoyed with.
She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves EmoBatch♥ for the amount of hugs they spam her with and how they make her feel so loved. She looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism and she also thinks that the club jacket rocks. :]
She can’t stand muggers and elitists. She curses and swears at egoistic people who pretend to be humble and “perfect” people who are always so full of themselves. Neither can she tolerate twits who type liiekk thizxzxzxz . She is shocked by the way their puny little brains are conned into believing that it looks kawaii. And when they twit so much til they pronounce the f-word as FAH.
She does ballet with more than just passion BUT she can’t do a split. She often gets irritated when her shockingly curved spine interferes with her posture and knowing that she could have done better. But she still tries her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6.
She plays basketball as a form of stress-relief BUT she can’t do a three-pointer. She knows it’s a very shameful thing for her to say but she doesn’t really care. She also loves baring her soul to the piano cause it can communicate with her the way no one else can.
She slacks on her computer everyday doing nothing but MSNing, blogging, or youtubing. She is also obsessed with counting calories but still spams herself with 2000 calories of chocolates at the end of the day. She loves shopping. She hearts doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours.
She thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs teenagers listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for ballads, sentimentals, and recently fell in love with oldies and country music. Songs that make her cry wins. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, Westlife and Backstreet Boys. She loves too many singers to name them all.
She doesn’t believe in Mr Rights and thinks that “forevers” are bullshit. Or at least at her age. She rolls her eyes at 13-year-olds who has got steads or are desperate for one. She is also amused by people who are convinced that she is attached because she knows that this isn’t a game.
She is a night angel and the night speaks to her. Her favourite flower is a black rose and she likes rainbows and hugs.
She hates people who underestimates or overestimates her. She is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. She knows her limits and snickering “you can’t do it” only makes her more persistent. She swears she is going to be a 女强人 when she grows up.
tagboard.
I don't like people who use five tags to type a sentence. Finish typing before pressing enter, thanks,
& I don't like spams. random.
